  Where do I start??...You have been warned. Long post. I had my carpets fitted in January 2016. First of all the carpet was cut too short, secondly the fitter cut the carpet the wrong way so the carpet threaded along the skirting boards and thirdly the fitter placed the carpet on top of the grippers causing it to come up. So I called the hemel store who reassured me that everything was normal and it was my furniture causing the carpet to come up. A few weeks went by and I still was not happy so I contacted them and they sent out a fitter to stretch my carpet which had no effect. So more phonecalls were made and an inspector came out and said that the carpet is on the wrong underlay but over time it will settle. I thought this was incorrect so more phonecalls were made and over the space of a month more fitters came out to stretch the carpet. All fitters said the same thing, 'The original fitter did not fit your carpet correctly'. So I gave the hemel store one more chance to rectify this mistake. The manager and his colleague visited my home and said, ' You have cheap carpets, what do you expect? I will happy replace your carpets if their is a fault but there is not a fault at present '. I thought that I would be nice by letting them leave in one piece. The next day I called the hemel store to enquire about getting a refund. I spoke to a lady who said that I would be entitled to a refund but I would have to demand one. Well as you can guess it never happened and the lady denied saying this to me. The manager said that if I wanted a refund or a replacement then I would have to pay a usage fee of £90. The man is deluded! I found this to be unacceptable so I contacted their headoffice department who were at the start a bit hit and miss but I kept banging on their door until somebody saw sense. The lady that I spoke to said this is unacceptable and we will replace your carpets free of charge. So it's been over a year and the hemel store sent out their estimater to measure my rooms who still got one room wrong! Three fitters came and starting from scratch. They completed the job in three hours. The three fitters had done a brilliant job, they talked to me throughout their visit about what they were doing and were very professional. I called the hemel store to ask if I got a new one year warranty which their response was no. I called their headoffice again and the lady said that we have one year warranty on the carpet and fitting. My experience with the hemel store was horrendous. Feel free to use this company but be vigilant.
